Hidden Treasures of the Kunsthalle: Photography Workshop

A two-day photography workshop explores unique narratives within the museum space of Hamburger Kunsthalle
11:00 Uhr, 210 Minuten

Meeting point: Atelier 4
Participation: Free of charge, registration required under: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1WIkUEYDqoWDUioGIQJEzt9oxGB6kY48a75fZoh…

Our photo workshop is an exploration of the museum phenomenon in the modern world through the deconstruction of its space and meanings. We see the museum as an archive where different layers of culture intersect, and its perception shifts depending on the context. It is a space-mirror reflecting the socio-cultural trends of the past, present, and future.

In a short period, participants will try to find their theme within a set framework and create a visual narrative while exploring the museum space. The workshop will be of interest to both professional photographers and artists, as well as beginners looking to engage with the museum through the lens of visual art.

This could take the form of a photo series, a photo-video installation, or another visual experiment. From a professional perspective, such intensive workshops help expand artistic practice and can serve as a starting point for further exploration. The best works may be published on Kunsthalle’s social media, showcasing the stories uncovered during the workshop.
